Exclusive: I Can Keep Fasting In Ramadan Even When I Am Playing – Fredi Kanoute
Fredi explains how he makes the seemingly impossible a reality during a certain month each year...Aug 24, 2009 9:00:00 AM
To be tremendously fit is a must for all professional footballers: a demand that leads some Muslim players to forgo the duty of fasting during Ramadan, preferring to fulfill their obligation when the football season ends. However, for Sevilla’s Freddie Kanoute, this is not the case.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker believes it is possible for a modern footballer to remain in peak physical condition during the holy month.
The likes of Kanoute, along with Real Madrid's Mahamadou Diarra, Lassana Diarra, and Karim Benzema, are the talk of football world as doctors work around the clock to formulate a routine in order to keep them hydrated during the fasting process.
And as Spanish tabloids splash headlines about the fasting month and debates rage about whether players should even be allowed to fast and play during Ramadan - Kanoute insists he just wants to get on with it.
“I try to respect my faith and follow it as best I can,” Kanoute told Goal.com.
“It is sometimes harder to keep the fast because here in the south of Spain it is very hot, but I can do it, thank God.
“There are many Muslim footballers who people just do not know about in England in Spain, France and in many other leagues too. But having faith and practicing Ramadan is not something they wish to tell the world about.
“Personally, having faith helps my football and football helps me to be healthy and strengthens me. There is no conflict because people who know about Islam, they know that fasting empowers and does not weaken the Muslim.”
While Barcelona's fans are wondering if the likes of Eric Abidal, Seydou Keita and Yaya Toure - all Muslims - will be fasting, Real Madrid fans know of the importance their Muslim players - especially Mahamadou Diarra - place in their religion and his traditions.
“Every coach has respected my decision,” says Diarra on his Real Madrid profile page.
“They are difficult days during which one needs to eat, but it only lasts one month. I have another ten to play well.”
The Sevilla and Real Madrid players stance on Ramadan is shared by eminent specialist - Doctor Yacine Zerguni, a member of the FIFA and CAF Sports Medical Committees.
Zerguni collaborated with F-marc, the FIFA Medical Assessment and Research Centre, in a study on the effects of observing Ramadan for Muslim players: two professional football clubs in Algeria agreed to undergo biological, clinical and psychological tests before, during and after the month of Ramadan.
The study constituted a world first in this particular area and formed the foundations for scientific analysis of the potential impact of Ramadan on player performance.
“This month of physical and mental self discipline, which must also be free from any unhealthy or aggressive behaviour,” Zerguni told Goal.com, when asked if Ramadan was compatible with the practice of top-level football.
“Ramadan is intended be a period of internal purification and meditation; a period of regeneration. It is far from harmful. Indeed, the psychological study of the personality formed an integral part of our research project.
"Ramadan is intended be a period of internal purification and meditation; a period of regeneration. It is far from harmful."
“And although many players who were tested could not adapt to playing whilst fasting, one has to remember that it is highly likely that the effects of Ramadan are also linked to the spiritual qualities and physical capabilities of each athlete.
“Therefore certain players who continuously observe Ramadan when playing: their body can adapt because they are used to it - but many players can get tired. Players will have to work on effective pre- and post-match routines that will help them conserve energy and strength.”
Both Mahamadou Diarra and Kanoute place particular emphasis on the charity work during Ramadan. They donate a large portion of their earnings to charities in Mali with the hope of building a better future for their fellow citizens.
For Kanoute, a chance to “make a difference during Ramadan” is something very close to his heart.
“During Ramadan I give my all for my club and try not to let my team-mates and the fans down," he continued. "Everyone here has been very good to me and they understand. They also understand that during Ramadan you have a chance to reach out to those in need.
“For me, my charity is very important. I wanted to help with charity work for some time and a few years ago I went ahead with it and The Mali Children’s Village cares for orphaned and vulnerable children. There is a very big need to work with children here, especially orphans.
“My father was born a Muslim but as an orphan, he didn’t really know a lot about it, but he did try to teach me a few things. Children are our future and we should always try to ensure they are safe and have a good upbringing.”

main bola dalam bulan puasa
mamat ni bila pasukan dia tak menang, salahkan bulan puasa pulak !
MILAN, Aug 28 (Reuters) - Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho blamed the press on Friday for stirring up tensions following comments he made about Ramadan.
The Portuguese coach said Ghana’s Sulley Muntari had possibly lacked energy in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Bari because he was fasting for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The statement angered an Italian Muslim leader and reports say threats against Mourinho have been posted on websites.
“If something happens to me it will be your responsibility,” Mourinho told reporters ahead of Saturday’s Serie A derby with AC Milan.
“The situation with Muntari is your responsibility. I know what I said. I said ‘you can’t criticise the decision of Muntari because it is a question of faith and religion’.
“That means I accept it, I never said Muntari must forget his faith. If someone in the Islamic community is annoyed with me, It is your fault.”
On the field, Mourinho said he was pleased to sign Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder from Real Madrid after the champions lacked ideas in the Serie A opener at home to Bari.
“Sneijder completes my squad. I asked for a central defender, a midfielder, a playmaker and an attacker. They’ve all arrived,” Mourinho said referring to Lucio, Thiago Motta, Sneijder and Diego Milito/Samuel Eto’o.
“It’s a shame it didn’t happen in pre-season, it would have been fantastic to have a month and a half to prepare ourselves. It’s a team with potential. In derbys there are no favourites, often the team that is having the worst spell wins.” (Writing by Mark Meadows; Editing by Justin Palmer; To query or comment on this story email sportsfeedback@thomsonreuters.com)

begitulah muka-muka sebenar puak-puak kafir!

do whatever you like
oldtime days, bos order like jeneral order.it must be follow without question.do whatever they want. right or wrong on the decision not priority.
order must be follow by all means.
but thing slowly change eventhough some stuck with old principles.
why things change? thats nature of human being.
lately some bos will say, hey, do whatever you like....
what does that means?
he already boring with you and waiting time to kick you?
or he giving you freedom to do you work as what you want?
or he want to test you?
or its time for you to go?
i dont have specific answer but take positive and treat like that we received freedom.....

do or die mission
many boses want staff to be on do or die mission all the time.
every assignment must be like war. fight and fight and fight.
many wins, many failed.
but winner also sometimes will be slaughter.
sound strange? do you believe?
some bos purposely send send staff to failed and die during war.then easy to make decision. but if he win, should he been rewarded? answer are yes or no. only bos know.
but some assignment, staff must prepare to die. then only he can fight.
definately he will be injured either mentally or fizically.
will he recover from trauma? only he knows
lately for many years, unfortunately i always involved in this kind of mission.
everytime there were casualties on me like i mentioned above.
sad part, some people around me also effected and they cannot recover immediately. and they need some special treatment and time.
can i recover? yes
injured? yes
people surround me injured? yes
mentally affected? yes
fizically affected? yes
how i recover? its about to recover mindset which easy to say but difficult to do
any tools? many
but certain tool suitable to certain people only.....thats the biggest problem
are the bos also ready for real battle after all his soldier died?

begitu susah nak melangkah kemari, begitulah bila nak berangkat ni.
munkinkah aku kembali lagi ?

jangan biarkan
berita dr hassan ali menghentak dap pasal arak amat mengembirakan aku.
dah berapa generasi berlalu, keadaan masih sama.
janganlah malaya jadi macam sini sementara masih ada peluang.
janganlah ditunggu dilanggar garuda baru nak ingat apa yang tuhan dah bagitau!

always on fire
we continue again on people of no 2 stories.
many times i was in that position but luckly enough it was very small situation.
it was always a very hot position because fire coming from top and bottom.
we also cannot make good decision because no 1 want to plant their agenda and bottom want us to fullfilled their needs.
that where no 1 always strengtened their position and no 2 always had been given boot out.But some no 2 manage to make them relevant and survive.
i also lucky manage to be in no two without any problem so far but always hate this position
classic example on this was Dr M.
he was a very good no 2 to husien onn.waiting and hold on until he got chance.
we not talking about how he got there but how he manage during that time.
something to learn here?
unfortunately few of his no 2 not like him and cannot manage the situation and was boot out.
another one was tun razak which also very good no 2. he even manage to hang there for avery long period and become the only no 2 to T.A.Rahman
but if we look carefully on our Nabi Muhammad S.A.W management, he dont have no 2 eventhough people always name saidina abu bakar as no 2. but Nabi never mention anything. he have four no 2 which every person have different character and strength.
people always argue that we cannot do that in current scenario.
but why cannot? did anybody try before?
this four also know how to play their role well.
why this system so succesfull? what special about it?

silap langkah, semua untung hangus dek rugi.
jadi beringat-ingatlah.
sejak lepas perang, sini belum pernah kena kemelesetan.

your body defence

Your body’s defence
Find out how to keep your immune system fighting fit.
DO you remember when you were last ill?
Our immune system is the body’s defence mechanism against bacteria and viruses that lead to common illnesses like coughs, colds and infections. In order to guard you against every cold or flu that comes your way, the immune system needs to be well nourished.
“With proper food choices, one gets all of the essential vitamins and minerals to maintain your body’s natural immunity. Just as important, you need to be looking at ways to fill any nutritional gaps that you may have,” says Datin Farah Diba Khan, chief dietician of the Lifestyle Modification Centre at Prince Court Medical Centre.
As the main line of defence against infections, your immune system is made up of cells, proteins, tissues, and organs that protect you against germs, antigens and micro-organisms that “attack” the body. One of the most interesting aspects of your immune system is its “memory capability”. There are cells which can recognise specific viruses or bacteria or foreign cells which have entered the body before. They are able to respond immediately to neutralise and eliminate these foreign objects.
Consumers with diabetes tend to have a compromised immune system. When the blood sugar is aggravated, one is more prone to infection. Some of the medications prescribed for diabetes treatment also affect the immune system. One of the most common drugs used is insulin sensitiser, and long term usage may cause reduced vitamin B12 absorption. Vitamin B12, along with folic acid, is essential for B-cell and T-cell functioning. B-cells produce antibodies which target invaders like dust-mite allergens while T-cells destroy cancer cells and viruses.
A flagging immune system may result in fatigue, lethargy, repeated infections, slow wound healing, allergies, thrush, colds and flu. A healthy immune system is also important for cancer patients or those recovering from surgery.
Boost your immune system
A deficiency of vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, folic acid, C and E suppresses immunity, as does a deficiency of iron, zinc, magnesium and selenium. Vitamin C increases the production of infection-fighting white blood cells and antibodies. It also raises interferon levels. This is an antibody that coats cells, stopping viruses from entering them.
Vitamin E stimulates the production of cells that search and destroy harmful cells. It also enhances the production of B-cells which destroy bacteria. Vitamin E can also slow down or reverse the effects commonly associated with ageing on the immune system. Beta carotene helps stimulate growth of infection-fighting cells and natural killer cells as well as supporting T-cells.
Selenium helps with the production of antibodies. Manganese possesses anti-oxidant properties and is a key component of an immune related enzyme.
Zinc and copper are also important factors in the development and maintenance of immune function. But wait. It’s not just enough to consume large doses of these, but to consume them in the right combinations. Various clinical studies have shown that nutrients work best in combination with each other rather than individually in keeping your immune system operating at its best. One study conducted in the Unite States revealed that older people who consumed multi-vitamins consistently for six to 12 months showed substantial improvements in cellular immunity. This was followed by other clinical studies that showed that those who consumed supplements which had combined nutrients rather than individual nutrients saw an increase in the number of immunity cells in their body. In addition, consumption of antioxidants, either through foods or nutrient supplements offered further benefit to the immune system.
But with our busy and demanding lifestyles, eating right to get these vitamins and minerals is a challenge. This is where a complete multi-vitamin/mineral supplement makes a positive difference. Consuming a supplement regularly will boost our nutrient consumption and ensure that your immune system stays strong. Apart from supplements, you can also keep your immune system as its best with these simple tips:
>Exercise – Regular, moderate exercise three times a week can help the immune system.
>Sleep – Ensure you get sufficient sleep so the body may rest which is crucial to staying well.
>Don’t smoke – Smoking suppresses immune cells. Quit smoking if you’re a smoker.
>Limit alcohol consumption – Limit alcohol to no more than one drink per day.
How often do we think about our immune systems?
Only after we’ve caught the flu bug? It’s too late by then.
As a parent, you’re the busy CFO – Chief Family Officer – who is constantly running around 24/7 looking after the kids, picking them up from school, going grocery shopping and basically running an active household.
As a career person, you have meetings to attend, a work piling on your desk and a busy schedule. Can any of us afford to fall sick? It’s not an option for anyone. But if you have a strong immune system, falling ill would be the last of your worries.

al-fatihah

mesjid peyton
setelah teruk diserang demam minggu lepas, hari minggu ni sempatlah ikut jemaah mesjid peyton solat.
mereka menggengam islam seperti sabda nabi walaupun ianya bara.
nanti mak belikan kek
terimakasih pak.luv u so much.
mak belum beli kek lagi.
nampak gaya kena la kautim kemudian ni........

meleset lagi...???
